Whites Tavern

 To Start this journey properly I believe we have to start at the oldest pub in Belfast, Whites Tavern which was established in 1630, meaning this pub is truly steeped in culture and heritage.


Whites Tavern is located on 2-4 Winecellar Entry, Belfast Bt11QN. With whites tavern being located here it ks right in the heart of Belfast city enter meaning a guaranteed crowd and in Belfast that means a guaranteed good craic. One of the main reason I would suggest Whites Tavern is due to its also amazing food and large beer garden which is great to socialise with family and friends, with great food and a few pints. 

My genuine experience in whites Tavern was one of no complaints, from the service, quality of drink and food to as well as the music, this makes for a great time. I have been there 4 times now and every time I have been I have always been greeted by warming staff and a nice social atmosphere. This is a huge reason for me as to why I would suggest Whites Tavern as a definite spot to add to your list.

I found that Whites Tavern prices were fair and although a pint of Guinness will set you back £5.70, I found that the quality and service of the pint was rewarded this price tag. With this price though I wouldn’t suggest for the like of students to drink here regularly but for a one off it is definitely worth giving a try. In my experiences of whites tavern I have also found there to be a nice variety of ages from students to retired folk who all have the same common interest of pints and craic.

In conclusion I would 100% say if your are found of a drink and some craic you need to try Whites, with the friendliness and the warmness of the atmosphere, topped off with some live music Whites has to be a place to come.

Kelly Cellars

Kelly Cellars is synonymous around Belfast for the fact that some people believe it is the true oldest pub in Belfast as these people would say a tavern is not a pub. Kelly Cellars was built on March 14, 1720,  situated at 30 Bank Street in the city centre. Kelly Cellars   provides pub food and traditional music sessions. It remains resolutely old-fashioned as it has a v aulted ceiling with an elbow-worn bar which as u can picture is always crammed. In terms of my experiences within Kelly Cellars I could write about it for days.
